Travis Scott’s skin has become one of the rarest Fortnite cosmetic items, especially after being withdrawn due to controversy. However, after nearly two years, fans are requesting the skin’s return to the game in anticipation of the upcoming album Utopia. Here’s what we currently know about the return of the cosmetic to Fortnite.
The popular Battle Royale game, Fortnite, has made significant strides in the gaming industry by incorporating a wide range of pop culture icons and collaborations.
This also includes Travis Scott, a world-famous producer and rapper. The “Astronomical” live event, a concert in-game held by Travis Scott from April 23-25, 2020, was the highlight of their collaboration. During the event, players could also purchase the Travis Scott outfit in the Fortnite Item Shop.
But Epic Games chose to vault the skin due to controversies surrounding the musician and a tragic event at one of his concerts. As a result, the skin hasn’t been available in the Fortnite Item Shop since and fans are demanding Travis’s skin to return in light of his new album Utopia.

Players have apparently been tweeting about the potential return of the Travis Scott cosmetic set to the Fortnite Item Shop. Despite rumors to the contrary, the skin has not been officially confirmed to return to the game by either party.
However, fans are keeping their fingers crossed that it will return before the release of his new album, Utopia. On his official Twitter account, the musician announced the album’s release date which is now July 28, 2023.

One such fan who missed out on the skin when it came out initially said, “Let’s go I could finally buy Travis Scott, but I already have Astro Jack”. Another who claims the rumors to be fake replied, “The whole community is overdosing on Travis Scott cope. It’s not coming back”.

A third commented, “There’s a lot of things backing up the return on the 28th including this tweet that Tim Sweeney liked about Travis Scott”. To conclude the argument, a fourth tweeted, “Anyone who knows Travis and his Cactus Jack brand knows he likes to keep his stuff exclusive and he only drops things once”.

However, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney posted his views on X regarding Travis Scott’s Fortnite cosmetics when he said, “Travis Scott is welcome in Fortnite. I’m just not in the loop on item shop rotations so I don’t know what’s coming when, or what specific agreements with celebrities and brands affect the timing of those decisions”.
Players shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet that his skin will be making a comeback. They should take the rumors with a pinch of salt, and in case it turns out to be true, however, the next major Fortnite update on July 25 could add Travis Scott’s skin game files to the Item Shop.

What is the Fortnite Travis Scott skin?
The Travis Scott skin is a character reskin in Fortnite that looks just like the rapper of the same name.
It was added in April last year as part of the Astronomical in-game event.
Scott premiered his new track at the time, as part of an "other-world experience" for players.
And the Travis Scott skin was just one of the items available in-game to promote the event.
How to get Travis Scott skin – when is it back on Fortnite?
Epic Games hasn't officially confirmed the return of the Travis Scott skin.
Originally players had to complete in-game challenges to acquire event items, but the skin itself has been removed.
However, Fortnite leaker HypeX has claimed that the skin could return.
In a tweet they wrote: "Travis Scott *MIGHT* return on February 10 because that's considered the Travis Scott Day in some places!"
However, Travis Scott's skin is currently unavailable in the game.
It's also unclear if the item will ever be added again.
Thankfully, Fortnite does regular tie-ins with music artists, movie franchises and more – so there's always plenty of new content to bag.
The previous Travis Scott Event attracted 12million viewers.

The RnB star is set to release his fourth studio album «Utopia» as a successor to Astroworld, but his return to music hasn’t been without controversy, and it’s carried over into his gaming collaborations too.
Having been unofficially axed from the Fortnite store, the Travis Scott skin is like gold dust in Epic Games’ battle royale nowadays. But that doesn’t mean that it will never return, as Epic’s CEO has now teased fans about its return.

Previous rumours of Travis Scott’s Fortnite skin returning to the game were debunked, as a troll was pretending to be Epic CEO Time Sweeney in YouTube live chat, with Fortnite themselves refusing to explain whether the skin would be coming back.
Now though, the actual Tim Sweeney has injected copium into the Fortnite community, as he has dismissed any notions that the skin is «blacklisted» in Fortnite.
After being bombarded with messages on Twitter, the CEO answered back to the blacklisting comments by saying, «I’m just not in the loop on item shop rotations so I don’t know what’s coming when, or what specific agreements with celebrities and brands affect the timing of those decisions.»
With Scott’s Utopia album reigniting the debate about his skin’s availability in Fortnite, fans have been taking to social media to implore that it be returned to the store to celebrate the album on July 28.

Adding to his comments, Sweeney confirmed that «Travis Scott is welcome in Fortnite,» which is now being construed that the Astroworld skin is on its way back.
So there we have it, Epic Games appears to be on board with the Travis Scott skin returning to Fortnite, although that doesn’t mean that its plain sailing from here.
Neither party has confirmed the skin’s arrival again, and it could be that Travis Scott himself (or his team) doesn’t want the skin being added again, making current owners privilege.
With Utopia’s release on July 28, we’ll have to wait and see if the musician really does jump back into the game one griddy hop at a time.
