SCUM Servers Guide | Here’s How You Can Get Your Own Server
When you join SCUM for the first time you’ll notice a single player option and a multiplayer option are already available.
When you jump into the multiplayer option, you’re yet to be able to join a random server or match-make into one, meaning you’ll have to go searching for a server if you don’t already have one.
Searching for a server can be a real pain in the a*se because it means you’ll have to go trawling through gamer groups on Facebook social media, or online through any of the media houses that may have acquired one for their own news testing.
How To Get Your Own Server In Scum
If you have a decent sized community or even a few mates who are all joining the SCUM bandwagon, it may be worthwhile investing in a server by the “RENT A SERVER“ option in multiplayer, here’s everything you need to know.
![]()
Once you hit “RENT A SERVER“ you’ll be taken to a pop-up box through steam that will give you all of the purchase information.
The server purchase allows you to choose between 20 and 64 player slots for your server at a cost of $1.20 (US) per slot, and promises your server will be online in 3 minutes, will give you Low Ping/High Performance (though those are very generic descriptions), and 24/7 support is also available. I’d be pretty confident in renting server space as it’s being hosted by g-portal.us and they are fairly reputable.
![]()
Once you click on “order now“ you’ll be taken to another screen where you actually create your server by the numbers.
We’ve worked out that the initial $1.20 per slot is for a 30-day server purchase, but as you scale up to 90 days, 180 days, or a full year, there’s a sliding scale discount incentive.
A full year will set you back $234.18 – pretty good value for your own server.
![]()
As you can see the majority of players on SCUM are coming out of China right now with every server for that region sold out. This is a really interesting find considering that games like PUBG and Fortnite that have similar characteristics had some serious issues with Chinese region players cheating the game, and already SCUM’s developers have released an anti-cheat system. Coincidence?
Anyway, it’s not a bad idea to grab yourself a server because SCUM is really taking off and you don’t want to be locked into having to join other servers when all you want to do is have a weekly session with your best mates.

How to use the custom map option?
The map in SCUM is very large. Some communities (e.g. with fewer players) would like to make the map smaller, because it takes very long to get from one border to the other one.
This is easily possible with the advanced settings. Here is an explanation of the individual settings:
CustomMapCenterX and CustomMapCenterY places the center of the map on any coordinates. CustomMapWidth sets the width of the Map and CustomMapHeight sets the height. So you can customize the map according to your wishes.
- Use the customized map, by simply activating the “CustomMapActive” option.
- Now set the desired center point (if you don’t want to change this, leave the setting on 0/0)
- To make the map smaller, change the height and width to a smaller value (standard: 12.2 km²)

What is an Exclusive Join, ReservedID or Banned List?
You can add players to an Exclusive Join list. ONLY these players can join the server. No one else.
If a player is on the Reserved Slots list and tries to join the full server, another random player (of course no Admins) is automatically kicked. So your regulars can always join you. You CAN’T choose which players will be kicked so your regular players can join!
Unwanted, trolling, or abusive players can be permanently banned from your server. They will never be able to access your server again with their Steam account unless you undo this. A banned list is a great way to maintain a friendly atmosphere on your server.
How do I put players on Exclusive Join or Reserved Slots? How do I ban a player?
You only need to enter the player’s STEAM64 ID in the appropriate box in the basic settings. You can find these in the basic settings on the right. If you want to give multiple players a regular place, just enter all the IDs together under each other.
Of course, you can also ban a player directly on the server. Use your Admin rights to do this.

SCUM is an open-world survival game with unprecedented levels of character customization, control, and progression. Knowledge and skill are your ultimate weapons for long-term survival.
as many, we want to host our own dedicaced server.
is not possible now because we dont have Steam AppID for server side file.
Scum Dedicated Server — Your Quick Guide
If you’re a fan of SCUM, a multiplayer online survival game developed by Croatian studio Gamepires, you may be wondering if you can host a dedicated server for the game. Having one means hosting your own private server and playing SCUM with your friends.
It will also provide you with a better gaming experience using a third-party service than playing on a public server or setting up your own from scratch. If you want to know if this is possible, we’ll tackle everything you need to know in this guide!
Can You Host Your Own SCUM Dedicated Server?
Yes, you can host your own SCUM dedicated server. It is easy to do and requires minimal setup to get started. To begin, you’ll need to rent a SCUM dedicated server, which can be found through multiple providers online with a fixed price.
Once you’ve chosen and set up the server through the hosting service, you’ll be able to configure your server and adjust your settings, such as the map, game mode, and player capacity, and more.
![]()
You can also adjust the difficulty settings, allowing you to customize the game for your preferred level and mechanics. Finally, you can allow players to join your private server.
With that, your server is set up with your own survival game rules in SCUM at the tip of your fingertips, with a smooth, worry-free gaming experience.
Advantages of Hosting Your Own SCUM Server
Hosting your own SCUM server can offer several benefits for players who want to take their gaming experience to the next level. Here are some of the top advantages of using a dedicated server for Scum:
![]()
Complete Control : With your own SCUM server, you have complete control over the game environment. You can customize the server settings, install mods, and configure the game to your liking. This allows you to create a unique gaming experience that suits your preferences and playstyle.
Better Performance: Dedicated servers are optimized for gaming, which means that they provide better performance than regular servers. This can result in less lag, faster load times, and a more stable game experience overall.
Increased Security: When you host your own SCUM server, you have greater control over the security of your game environment. You can set up your own security protocols and ensure that only trusted players have access to your server. Server Hosting providers also have extra security measures on their servers and a backup system just in case there are data problems.
Community Building: Hosting your own SCUM server also allows you to build your own community of players. You can invite friends, family, or other players to join your server and create a dedicated gaming community.
Cost-Effective: Although hosting your own SCUM server requires an upfront investment, it can be more cost-effective in the long run. Some server hosting sites offer promotions or free trials so you can test run to help in choosing the right one that suits your budget.
